Catch up not Ketchup :)
On November 12, my computer had to go to the doctor because it was sick and Yesterday it got home so I am so excited to finally beable to post the going ons of the last 3 weeks. I now realize that I am an extremly busy person...WOW...181 photos just in the last 3 weeks and I think at least a half a dozen activities planned and carried through! Even though this is just one big post I am going to break the post up into "sub" posts or else I am going to lose track of the going ons. So get in my time capsule and lets travel back to November 12...just to begin :).
Love,
Scott, Leona, Star, Bree and Skyler
November 12 2011-Bree Anns Birthday Party
Bree Ann turned 8 on October 11 but due to Scotts kidney (seperate story altogether) we had to push her party back a month. Bree wanted a princess style "tea" party!
Bree Ann and her Cake, 8 candles, thats half way to 16 (bites nails)
As the girls came we crowned them and they each made their own wand.
Games: we played Pin the crown on the princess, and this pics of them playing "hot" frog prince. (hot potato, poor skylers frog got kissed by a lot of girls that day :)
For our "tea" party we had Apple Juice (I am not dumb enough to give 8 girls caffine), turkey rolls, fruit salad and heart shaped scones!
Then we had cake and ice cream...Bree was very happy!
All the girls!
November 17 2011-Skylers Field Trip
Skylers class has been learning about the solar system so we took a trip to the Clarks Planetarium in Salt Lake City with the entire 1st grade. We had so much fun taking a trip on a cardboard rocket through the solar system, and exploring all the exhibits! I am so grateful to beable to do fun things like this with my kids.
On the bus...
My Group
Planet exhibit
Skylers Moon Walk
and not 5 steps away he was on Mars, nasa should take some pointers from this kid!
The boys lifting an asteroid, this sucker was heavy!
When we got back to school the kids made solar system cookies, which I barely got a picture of before it disappeared into the black hole.
And just in case the events of the day didn't make all the kids act absolutly nuts we had a fire drill just for good measure :)...I don't believe I have to say it but OMG I was so tired when I got home. :)
November 19 2011-Stars Birthday Party
On November 15 Star Marie turned 10 :/ Honestly it is kinda weird! I just can't believe that she has been here so long but on the other had if feels like she has always been here. Here are somethings about Star...

Stars birthday was a Monster High theme...google it...anyways its her favorite new thing and I have to say it is pretty cute. So when the girls got to the house we had Monster Make Overs and they were transformed into highly fashionable ghouls :)
Period 1 was "Home Ick", yes Ick, we made our very own stuffies that the girls designed, cut out, sewed together, and then decorated.
Birthday Cake...Yummy!
Finished Home Ick projects I give them all an A+
we also had "Mad Science class" where we made slim, and then we had Fear Squad Try outs, which basically turned into an insane game of simon says!
Bree Ann Painted this I am super impressed
November 22 2011- Greek Culminating Event
Bree Anns Class has been studying modern and ancient Greece so after the final test we had a fun filled day where we got to learn greek dance, make art projects, win medals at the 1st Olympics and Eat yummy Greek food!
November 24 2011- Thanksgiving
Hey Star, why do we eat turkey... (star) BECAUSE ITS GOOD!!!!
That night me, My sister in law and brother in law went black friday shopping and we set up a tent and put all 5 kids in for the night. They had a blast and were properly passed out by 930 which meant that Scott was able to go to bed at a decent time, unlike me who is still trying to recover from that night!
This is our failed attempt at making sugar cookies...I now know that there is a different recipe to roll them out and cut them out with cookie cutters, but hey they were nummy, and the kids had a blast making them!
November 27- "The lights before Christmas"
Every year Layton city does a fantastic display of Christmas lights that is free to walk through and enjoy. Every year we go this year we were accompanied by Bree Anns besties family which made the event all the more merrier!
The kids kneeling before Baby Jesus, they look so innocent, to bad right after this one of them triped over the wire holding the whole thing up and we had a panick moment praying it didn't fall down...it didn't we are fine :)
RUPERT!!!! He came too he LOVED the lights I am pretty sure he is colored blind but he was just excited to be outside and playing with kids, he got kinda chillie so he spent the secound part of the lights trip cuddled up in my hoodie!
November 28- Decorating the Christmas Tree!
At our house certain things happen in a certain order for example...Thanksgiving comes BEFORE Christmas...so it is offically time to set up the tree and break out all the ornaments. Every year we get the kids a new ornament that kinda represents their year, and I think the best part of this tradition is looking at the ornaments and seeing how they have grown, and telling the kids about each ornament and why its theirs. This year Skyler got "buddy" a very smart T-rex from the show Dinosaur Train because he loves Dinos, Bree got...guess...a new My little Pony ornament lol I think it is the 5th but they are all different so its all good. Stars was tricker we looked and looked but nothing really fit her. She really wanted a Monster High (google) ornament but alas there was none. So guess what because I am a Super duper Amazing times 10 mom I made her one out of felt and puff paint it was epic she LOVED it and now it has an awesome story to accompany it!
Hes just so stinkin cute...in that picture :)
Our Finished product!!!
December 3- Bree Ann's Baptism
For those who know us but are not aware we belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and it is our belief that a child should not be baptized until they reach the age of 8 years old. We believe that by the age of 8 they should have a basic understanding of the gospel and beable to choose for themself if they want to be baptized. Bree Ann made her choice to baptized and comfirmed a Memeber of the church and as parents there is not greater blessing than seeing your child open her heart to her savior. It was a beautiful day one that I will always cherish in my heart! Scott was able to baptize and confirm her, here they are in their whites!
This is Bree and her Bestie Aleksia...Aleksia also was baptized that day so we went to hers first.
had a combined yummy family luncheon
And headed over to Brees!
This is the Post baptism hug!!! For weeks they had been planning this they couldn't hug until both of them were baptized and in thier beautiful white dresses.
The Happy family
Bree Ann in her dress...here is the story. When Bree was 4 she told me that she wanted to be baptized in Bell's dress (from beauty and the beast) I told her that would be fine but we would have to make sure it was white...well 4 years later that is still what she wanted so its what she got I made it all by myself and I was so proud she looked like an angel!
Christmas pics are coming soon I promise!
