This last week the kids were out of school for fall break, and while we got absolutly nothing done, Scott was able to take off Friday and we got to spend the day as a family. We decided to go up Adams Cayon and have a picnic lunch, so we packed up the kids and headed for the Mountain. Adams Cayon is only about 10 mins from my home, it is so amazing to live just minutes from these Majestic Moutains. We only made it about 3/4 up the cayon before we had to stop to eat and head home but round trip it was around 5 miles, not to shabby for my little family. The main reason we decided to hike was to see the all the changing colors that are so vibrant during the fall. Fall is my favorite season, and honestly growing up in central California I could never fully appreciate the change of seasons like I can here. It is just stunning to watch the moutains change and the colors almost seem to roll across the masters pallet. OK enough with that, just enjoy the pics and know that I absloulty love fall!!!!
Love,
Scott, Leona, Star, Bree, and Skyler
Those rolling colors as before mentioned
Star above the Salt Lake Valley
Skyler "gee I wish I could climb up there." Mom *sigh* "go ahead"
Lesson to learn...what goes up must come down...in this case it came down as a giant ball of dust and scrapped knees.
me and the kiddos!
Hercules, and mini Hercules...either way they are my Greek Heros!
Me pretending to be cold blooded and attempting to soak up every ounce of God given sun rays...because ladies and gentlemen while I LOVE fall the only problem is only one thing can come from it and that is WINTER...which I loath.
Bree and Skyler exploring a rock "cave". No worries we sent Daddy in first to check for creepies :)
Star and Bree
All the fall Colors in one pic!
Star Marie...Yes she is that tall...yes she does have pink hair (its fake)...and yes shes to skinny even for skinny jeans lol.
Bree and Skyler on the rock of doom.
This would be when my family ditched me so I took the opprutunity to take some pictures of my surrondings. The Hike up Adams Cayon follows this river which had many little waterfalls like this one all along the trail.
I really admired this little leaf. I thought it was very brave to wedge itself in with a pine tree, kinda a foreshadow with the red fall leaf resting upon the winter pine needles.
Another Natural Master Piece
The sun was shining through all these magnificent leaves lighting them up reminding me of stained glass.
So cute
All the kiddos
Cayon entrance and exit
Hitting the trail...this is actually in the beginning...blogger changed how they post pictures so they are backwards again but thats ok.
All the kids ready to go posing for a quick shot of them and the cayon!
