The last hurrah, one more jaunt, however you put it summer vacation is drawing to a close and what better way to say hasta then a trip to the farm. The kids have really been fantastic this summer, the proof is that we are all alive and with only one small fire we figured they deserved a fun trip to end vacation with. We escaped down to Thanksgiving Point, in Lehi UT to their Farm country, in August every tuesday is 2 bucks a person and I love me a good deal. We went down with my Twin and her kids making the trip all the more special. The Farm country is a real working farm with pigs, goats, horses, nasty chickens, and produce pretty much everything you would expect to find on a farm. They had a horse ride for the kids and a hay ride minus the hay for the whole family. We did have one major set back to the day but over all had a great time! enjoy
Love,
Scott Leona, Star Bree and Skyler
Speaking of major set backs...here it is! I blew out my tire going 70 on I-15 seriously not fun and super scary, but I would like to say that the kids were amazing. They sat in the car for an hour with not one complaint or fight, and us moms were amazing as well we totally jacked that van up and got the tire off before our reinforcements came!
the reinforcements :)
our big-o picnic, my blow out cost us 2 new tires and about 2 hours of unexpected delays but we made the best of it and the kids thought the whole thing was great!
Beautiful Monarch Butterfly at the farm

This poor Mommy goat had just barely stood up when her kids rammed into her for a drink, she nearly fell over and I just thanked the heavens that I was not a goat :)
Star milking a fake cow, they did bring the real cows in and the kids were able to milk the real cows but my kids were freaked out by the whole thing and wanted nothing to do with it. (dang city folk)
Inside they had an interactive display on how milk was processed.
As soon as Bree learned we were going to a farm she got her boots on and her cowgirl hat and just hammed it up. she wants to own a horse ranch when she grows up and when asked about all the work she would have to do she said, "Mom, thats why I will marry a rancher he can do all the yucky work and I can ride the horses all the time!" Girl after my own heart!
The kids behind bars seriously gonna install one of these!
Seriously LOVE taking pics of her!
Star and Bree on the Hay ride minus the hay :)
with admission all the kids got to ride horses! Bree was estatic, Skyler was ok with it, and Star was terrified, poor kid. When it was our turn she decided to do it and I was so proud of her for overcoming her fears.
Skyler
Bree rode the biggest horse there, of course.
The whole gang!
and the Thackeray bunch, skyler is done for the day :/
